How to fight Cold Sores

As we all know cold sores are not only painful but embarrassing. They always seem to come at the worst time, like when you are about to go on a date or when you have to give a big presentation. Well you don’t have to suffer from this painful condition anymore. I have a few suggestions for you. First you should examine your diet to see if it is high in foods that contain the amino acid arginine. Foods like chocolate or peanuts are usually the major culprits. This amino acid has been shown to aid in the growth of the herpes virus the virus that causes cold sores. Next you should start taking at least 1000 mg of lysine the amino acid that has been shown to stunt the growth of the herpes virus. You should also protect your lips from the sun by always wearing lip balm. If you do get an outbreak you should spray it with hydrogen peroxide or rub it with cocoanut oil. Doing one or both of these things will kill the virus on contact and will speed up the healing process. Other supplements that are important and ultimate elimination of the herpes virus are Olive leaf extract, Red marine algae, Prunella Vulgaris (a Chinese herb), and DSMO.
