Ways to Prevent Cancer

Dear Reader,

There are several forms of cancer that can wreck havoc on the body from heart to brain cancer but most if not all these cancers can be prevented if you take a few simple steps mainly with what you put into your body.

1. Eat whole and natural foods avoid foods that are filled with pesticides and hydrogenated oils.
2. Make sure to drink plenty of water daily
3. Make sure to sleep at least 6 hours a day but not more than 8
4. Avoid using cosmetics that are filled with chemicals instead look for ones that have all natural ingredients.
5. Exercise everyday I recommended doing 8 minutes of taebo a day to keep the cancer cells away
6. Stop smoking if you do this is the fastest way to get cancer and lead yourself to early grave
7. Drink Green tea it is high in antioxidants and will give you energy

Follow these steps and you will greatly reduce you chances of getting cancer.

Bad Case of insomnia

Dear Reader,

I have a bad case of insomnia lately and I know why. I have been studying a lot lately and have had little time to exercise and be out in the sun. These two activities would normally regulate my sleep cycle because they cause my body temperature to rise during the day giving me a boost of energy for the day but causing me to become tired at night. Instead of following my regular routine of exercise and sun activity I have been stuck inside drinking green tea studying financial figures for hour after hour. My body can not tell the difference between day and night because I am barely outside. I can't wait until this week is over and I can resume my normal sleep schedule.

My plan to lose 30 pounds

Dear Reader,

After seven years of playing football I have come to the end of the road, last Saturday was my final football game barring any unexpected calls from the NFL,UFL or international football team. So now that my football days are over it is time to loose all this excess weight I have accumulated over the days. No longer will I frequent all you can eat buffets and stuff my belly with food. I from now on will eat an Asian style diet lots of rice and vegetables along with green tea and rice. I will also pursue boxing as my main physical activity. I hope to by February to be down to 210 pounds right now I currently weight 255. For those of you who are interested keep paying attention to the blog I will keep you posted along my journey.

Flash Cards are the key to learning

Dear Reader,

I have recently come across a new way of studying that will dramatically improve your academic performance. I go it the flash card system. Whenever you are learning a new subject if you are like me you usually just read the book go to class and hope you can do well on the test. This is not the way to go. Instead as you read the book or listen in class write down possible question your teacher might ask. For all the questions you think of get the correct answers to them. Now with your question and answers make flash cards. When you have all the flash cards made continually test yourself over and over and over. By the time test day comes you will have already taken several test and feel little anxiety over the test. Try this flash card method in any subject and let me know how it goes.

The Importance of Dynamic Streching

Dear Reader,

If you play sports you know how important stretching is, it can prevent injuries and increase your athletic performance. The are many types of stretching one can do such as dynamic,static, and ballistic. Out of these three I prefer dynaimc stretching which involves constant movement of the muscles you are going to use. For example before I play a football game I make sure to do A Skips, B skips, and soldiers to warm up my legs. I also do lunges and punches to get my nervous system ready to expend extreme amounts of force. I have never like static stretching before a game I feel it doesn't get my blood moving and ready to play.I find static stretching more useful for relaxing purposes. So next time you play a sport make sure to dynamic warm ups.

Beans are really a magical fruit, they are high in fiber,protein, complex carbs, and have low levels of fat along with other nutrients such as potassium. The protein from beans are the best found in a plant source and less likely to cause cancer then protein found in animals. Beans are high in soluble fiber which helps the digestive process along. As beans pass through your system they absorb water and create a gel that can rid your body of cholesterol and toxins. If you want to live long you should eat a lot of beans.Some of the longest living populations love beans such as the Japanese and the Swedish. Beans are also really cheap and can be mixed with rice to make a great meal.

Dear reader,

For me nothing works better for getting rid of aches and soreness than tiger balm. Tiger balm is the Asian version of icy hot it can be found in most stores and pharmacies especially CVS. You just rub it on the area that is in pain and let it go to work. I suggest you buy tiger balm along with capsicum if you are feel sore after a workout or a long day of work.

ICE is the best remedy for aches and pains

Dear Reader,

I haven't posted on the blog for a little bit now because I have been busy with what could be my last football training camp ever. For the last week I have been doing nothing but running,hitting, tackling, and lifting. These following activities cause my to push my body to it's physical limits and without my secret weapon I would be in great pain. Ice is the greatest weapon to use against any body ache that you develop. The cold from Ice helps relive inflammatory at the point of the ache better than any drugs and doctor will prescribe you. The coldness will also cause the body to send blood to the area faster than it normal would causing the healing process to speed up. I have been using the ice bath every day since the start of training camp for my legs and I feel little soreness and I no longer fear two a day sessions or the daily conditioning. So if you are an athlete or like to be active use ICE as a major part of you rehab regiment.

The Sun is not your Enemy

Dear Reader,

So many people are afraid of the sun for no reason. Yes too much sun exposure can burn your skin and cause health problems but not getting enough sun is just as bad. Your body needs daily exposure to sunlight in order to produce it's own vitamin D. Forget about drinking milk and taking supplements you can make vitamin D yourself for free without having to drink milk which is not that good for you anyways. Sunlight also has other benefits such as preventing chronic diseases and helping fight insomnia. If you find yourself staying up late at night exercise more outdoors. Our bodies were designed to hunt during the day and sleep and night. In today's modern world people stay indoors for hours at a time and wonder why they can't sleep. How is your body supposed to know when to sleep if you are always inside. When you go outside you body temperatures rises giving you a boost in energy. When you go back inside you start to cool down and finally at night you get sleepy and go to sleep.

As an avid football player I have suffered many injuries from sprained ankles to back spams. One of the worst and most annoying injuries I have ever had is a hamstring pull. In the past when I pulled my hamstring it used to take weeks to heal but now I have found a herb that has sped up the healing process. This wonder herb is called capsicum which is also know as cayenne. This herb is very hot and when applied to the hamstring promotes blood circulation. The Power of Setting Goals

Do you start on an exercise program only to stop after a month or when it starts becoming difficult. Many people start of the year wanting to loose weight but by the end of the year very few people do. What separates the few people who actually lose and keep weight off from the many that attempt is very important detail. No it's not drugs or dangerous surgical procedures, what separates these people is written out goals and plans. People who have clear and attainable weight loss goals throughout the year are more likely to achieve them then people who just wing it or make up vague goals as they go along. It's not enough just to say I want to loose weight. You should have an ideal body weight and know when you want to achieve it by. That way you and your mind become focused on accomplishing this goal. You should also plan out your diet weekly so your not tempted by the unexpected pizza offers that come thorough out the week. So now that you know this get out a piece of paper and write down you dream weight and by when you want to achieve it.

Sprinting vs Long Slow Cardio

Many people want to get in cardiovascluar shape but don't know the best way to go about it. Some people advocate long duration workouts that last and hour or more. This is one way to go about getting cardiovascular shape but this is not the only way. A lot can be accomplished with short but intense workouts that involve both aerobic and anerobic aspects to get in cardiovascular shape. Instead of running for an hour or more you should do 10 100 yard sprints. You can start this workout today simply find an open filed sprint 100 yards and then walk back keep doing this until you reach 10. Afterr this short but intense workout you will be out of breath and on your way to getting in better cardiovascular shape.

The Danges of Cow Milk

If you have been drinking cow milk all your life this news may be hard for you to take. Cow milk is not good for you at all stop drinking it! Cow milk is full of hormones, pesticides, and antibiotics that are very harmful to the human body. It has a lot of fat in it, check the label and see how much fat there is you will be surprised.

If you are worried about your calcium intake milk is not the solution. Even though it has a lot of calcium it lacks the proper about of magnesium for your body to absorb that calcium effectively. Just because cow milk is white doesn't mean it is clean. Cow milk has feces in it which cause bacteria to grow in it. Milk is pasteurized but not at the same level or intensity as water. Milk goes bad very quickly this is why you have to consume it very quickly before it starts souring and smelling. Workout Without a Gym: How to harness the power of commercials

You know you should exercise but you don't. You have paid for an expensive gym membership but you never go. Instead you sit at home and saying one day you are going to get in shape and have those beautiful six pack abs you always wanted. Well next time you are watching TV thinking about working out why don't you just do it? Every time a commercial comes on do 10 push ups, 10 crunches, and 10 body weight squats. You hate the commercials so do something productive and healthy for you body. If you think this won't work look at the physique of the great NFL Running Back Herschel Walker. Before he even got into the NFL he did 1000 of push ups a day and he went on to have a very productive career.So there is no excuses for not exercising you can do it while you watch tv.

If you are person who relies on Coca-Cola to get through the day you are putting your health in serious jeopardy. To me Coca-Cola is nothing more than a drug being sold to you by the Coca-Cola corporation, in fact back in the olden days Coca-Cola used to have Cocaine in it as one of the ingredients. Coca-Cola has no nutritional value and is full of sugar and caffeine which causes a significant boost in your energy but quickly fades leaving you to look for you next fix. Coca-Cola itself is very acidic and causes great damage to your teeth. If you don't believe me just place a tooth in a soloution of Coke for a week and see what happens. Do you really want such a substance to take over you life. I have seen girls go crazy for the Coca-Cola up to three bottles a day. Think about how much money they are wasting on this drink. If you are currently hooked on Coca-Cola you need to get of it ASAP and it is a substance of no good.

The Asian Diet

Many people in today’s society are overweight and often turn to drastic measures to loose weight. Some people starve themselves while others resort to the Atkins diet or try unsafe weight loss pills. There is no need for this; there is already a diet out there that is both safe and sustainable for permanent weight loss and management. I call this diet the Asian diet because it is based on the traditional food choices that typical Asian people eat. Below this article I have included a link to the Asian diet pyramid which shows that the typical Asian diet is high in grains such as rice and noodles followed by lots of fruits, vegetables, and legumes. Eating a large portion of grains will give you a lot of slow burning energy to get through your daily activities. You should notice that meats are not included daily in the Asian diet but instead monthly or sparingly instead seafood is consumed which is often healthier thanks to omega 3 fatty acids. Another important thing is daily physical activity this is an absolute must if you are not exercising you are doing a great disservice to you body. Instead of sitting around on the couch watching tv you should take a walk even if you don’t want to go outside you can do bodyweight exercises in your own house so there is no excuse for not exercising a little bit everyday. The traditional Asian diet is superior to any fad diet you may try because it offers all the nutrients you need and allows you to eat a great variety of food. How to Fight Insomnia

If you are like many Americans you probably have sleep problems that cause you to stay up at night and feel tired during the day. This problem can be solved with a few simple life changes and few simple supplements. First, you need to get more sunlight during the day especially if you are an office worker. How to fight Cold Sores
